The John B Keane League

posted 31 May 2011, 01:35 by Listowel Emmets
It's all to play for after the third round of the John B Keane League held in Frank Sheehy Park on Monday night last 30th May. Jamie McVeigh's and Niamh Canty's Rural Rangers were too strong Robert O'Brien's Boro side and their win has secured their top spot on the league table.
Killian Fealey's Listowel Independents pulled off a shock victory over Devan McKenna's Ashes side who were firm favourites to pull off this year's league title. This was a great game of football and you would be forgiven to think it was a senior clash with end to end football. Devan McKenna and Stephen McCarthy had a great few tussels and both kicked some fine points. The Independents win see the Ashes drop to third on score difference.
The final game of the night was between Aaron Shine's Ghleann and Tim Scanlan's Blackcock Feathers, this was a game of two halves really with Adam O'Carroll, Cillian Rodriquez and Cliona Pierse all doing well to seal victory.
The top of the league is very tight and has changed leaders after every round, round 4 commences on Tuesday evening next 7th June due to the races at 6.45pm in Frank Sheehy Park.
