Listowel Emmets (C) 2-06 Knockanure 1-08

Listowel Emmets (C) put in a brilliant display of football to beat Knockanure and qualify for 2013 North Kerry Novice Football Championship Final. This a thrilling contest from start to finish. Wing Forward Derek Dillon scored an excellent goal for Listowel in the 9th minte to give Listowel a 1-02 to 0-00 lead. Knockanure stormed into the game to lead by 1 point at Half Time 1-02 to 1-03. Knockanure pulled 2 points clear early in the 2nd half and were playing the better football. Listowel never gave up and Dara Hughes kicked over an ecellent point in the 45th minute to level matters. A minute later Listowel Captain and Full Forward Seán Carey scored a superb goal to put Listowel in front 2-05 to 1-05. Dara Hughes put over another point to put Listowel 4 in front with 12 minutes remaining. Knockanure then took over and dominated the last 10 minutes. They kicked over 3 rapid points to cut the gap to just a solitary point. The Listowel Emmets defence held firm in the dying moments to win by a point. Both teams deserve great credit for a very entertaining game.
