North Kerry U-15 9-a-side Super Touch Blitz
Knock/Brosna who overcame St Senans and Listowel Emmets who overcame Ballydonoghue in their respective semi-finals, met in the North Kerry U-15 9-a-side Super Touch Final in Duagh on Monday evening last.On a beautiful evening both teams entertained the sizeable crowd with free flowing end to end football of a very high standard with some excellent score taking, score stopping ,passing and whole-hearted endeavour on display. There was very little between the sides all through the game which resulted in a very exciting encounter from start to finish which was well refereed by Brendan Griffin. The small whistle saw Emmets in front by 2-05 to 2-03 and at the final whistle the sides couldn't be separated with the scores tied at 5-11 a piece with Emmets equalizing with the last kick of the game. The rules of this competition decree a penalty shoot-out applies in this situation so the Knock/Brosna and Emmets players linked each other on the halfway line as the pressure was cranked up in Duagh. Eddie Browne stood in goals for the Emmets and produced a great save on Knock/Brosna's second attempt..Darren Loughnane,Sheldon Neill, Lorcan Moloney, Adam Scollard all scored for Emmets and Knock/Brosna scored 4 out of their 5 penalties to pile the pressure on Cian McCarthy who , if he scored, would seal victory for the Emmets....cometh the hour, cometh the man!...and Cian was swamped by his teammates after coolly slotting home.Captain Adam Scollard accepted the trophy on behalf of a delighted Emmets team and paid tribute to a gallant Knock/Brosna team who were certainly carried out on their shield, having left their all on the field and showing a lot of class in being so gracious in defeat.Well done to John Dillon on organizing the competition. Emmets Squad: Sean Keane, Micheal Kennedy, Feargal Wall, Devan McKenna,Daniel Sheehan, Robert Smith(1-02), Eddie Browne (2-01), Darren Loughnane (2-05),Adam Scollard (0-01),Cian McCarthy, Lorcan Moloney,  Sheldon Neill (0-02). Management: Tommy Sweeney, Nick Roberts, Gerdie Collins, Sean Moriarty.

Emmets Ladies:
After hosting last weeks U8’s Blitz which saw over 65 girls participate the U10’s will welcome Cork Nemo Rangers to Listowel on Saturday 13th for a fun filled day of sport and activities.

It was a busy week for our U12’s which saw over 30 girls from Listowel experience the excitement of playing in match finals. On Thursday evening the Listowel Tigers U12’s played the Development Final in Mountcoal and the following evening the Listowel Lions U12’s played the Shield Final in Abbeydorney. A fantastic turnout by all the U12 girls who were thrilled to play in a final.

Well done to the U14’s on their comprehensive victory in the North Kerry League against John Mitchells last Sunday. Their next game will be against Na Gael Sunday, September 14th at 12:00 am in Listowel.

After leading by 7 points at half time the U16’s were disappointed to lose their opening game in the North Kerry League against Austin Stacks last Wednesday. The focus will now turn to their upcoming Semi Final in the County League with Rathmore.
