Emmets Social

Listowel Emmets held their Victory Social at Listowel Arms Hotel on Saturday night last. The teams honoured on the night were Emmets Senior Ladies and Mens teams, Emmets Minors and Emmets Novice Teams.

Billy Enright on behalf of the North Kerry Board thanked the club for inviting him to the Social and commended the club on the amount of competitions they won within North Kerry during 2013.  The Emmets Minor team were the first to be presented with their medals, with joint player of the year awards given to Micheal Stack and Brion O'Donnell. Both players had an exceptional year with their team, Brion playing in the full back position while Micheal excelled in the full forward birch taking 2-2 in the North Kerry Championship final.
The B team player of the year went to Paudie Thornton, while the C Team player of the year was Tom Walsh.
The Senior Men's player of the year went to Ger McCarthy, Ger had once again a fantastic year with the black and amber, he plays a massive part in Emmets Senior Team and is a most deserving Player of the year.

The Ladies Club Person of the year award went to Graham Shine, Graham is involved in all aspects of the club from under eight team right up to the senior team, and this hard work certainly paid off with Emmets winning both their County and North Kerry League divisions in 2013.

The Emmets Club Person of the year award kindly sponsored by Gene Moriarty and Sons went to Paddy Walsh, Paddy was rewarded for his dedication to Listowel Emmets over 2013. Paddy serves as Coiste na nÓg treasurer, organising fundraising activities etc for the Coiste na nÓg. He was co manager of the Emmets Minor Team who had a successful year beaten in the final of the County league and final of North Kerry League, but got their just rewards when they won out the North Kerry Championship. He also was a selector with the Emmets Senior Team who won both the North Kerry League and Championship and also were beaten in the Semi Final of the County Intermediate Championship. Paddy spent a lot of time travelling from Limerick to train with the Senior Team and helping ferry players to and from college to ensure they were at training. Well done to Paddy and thanks for his commitment.

Last but by no means least the Ladies Senior Player of the Year went to Kate Sayers for her commitment and dedication to Emmets in 2013. The Gaelic for Mothers and Others award went to Marianne Anderson while the most improved player of the year went to Aoife Shine.
A huge thank you to everyone for attending and to our many sponsors who also attended on the night.
