Fixtures & Results:

Emmets Juniors:

Emmets B team were comprehensively beaten in the third round of the county league on Friday night last in Rathmore. Emmets reeling from their shock semi final defeat in the North Kerry League semi final had no answer to Rathmore's powerful performance where at half time they led by 18 points as Kieran O'Sullivan was the only man to score. Unfortuately for the visitors O'Sullivan was the only one to bring his shooting boots with him and took all of emmets scores. Final Score line Rathmore B 2-18 Emmets B 1-04. They next meet with John Mitchels B at home on Friday next 27th May at 7.30pm.

Emmets Seniors:

Listowel Emmets met with Spa in Round 3 of the County League on Sat night last however, the home team failed to impress and even with a good start to the game, and another good spell in the closing quarter Mike O'Donoghue had done enough to ensure the Killarney side earned the points. Emmets started brightly with good linking play between Padraig Buckley and Brian Scanlan but tenacious defending by Spa meant the ball was in the hands of the ever menacing Michael O'Donoghue who kicked points from all angles. O'Donoghue linked well with Ahern and Gleeson in the closing minute of the half to hit a rocket past Emmets Keeper Shane O'Neill. Andrew Garnett intercepted the kickout and sent a high ball in which O'Donoghue found space and past the Emmets keeper once again leaving the half time score Emmets 0-2 Spa 2-5. Spa continued to apply the pressure on the home team who were now playing with a sizeable breeze to their back, but this failed to materialise into scores as Spa once again took some fine points from play against the weather. Emmets fought hard to the end but the lead Spa had goin in at half time insured their win. Emmets Shane Quinn did goal in the latter stages to make the scoreboard look some bit better for the Listowel side, Conor Cox after a good game missed a penalty on the final whistle for a leg block on Kennelly but all in all Spa were a far superior side and had the game won at half time. Team: Shane O'Neill, Fergus Reen, Kieran O'Connor, Sean O'Mahony, Ger McCarthy (C), Brendan Guiney, Jack McGuire, Paudie Buckley, Denis Walsh, John Heaphy, Conor Cox(0-5, 0-4f), David Sheehy, Shane Quinn, (1-1) Brian Scanlan, Derek Galvin: Subs: Noel Kennelly for B. Scanlan (HT), Brian McGuire for J. Heaphy (47mins), Aengus Fitzgerald for D. Galvin (62mins). Emmets next meet with Milltown Castlemaine in Milltown on Sunday next 29th May at 2.30pm.
