Sympathy:

We extend our deepest sympathies to the family of John McMahon vice president of Emmets Club and former treasurer of Kerry County Board who passed away on Saturday. John served for over 25 years as treasurer of Kerry County Board. A native of Limerick, he made Lisowel his home, his kind, courteous and friendly personality endeared him to all. Coming from a financial background, the former Bank of Ireland manager worked tirelessly and unselfishly behind the scenes keeping the financial affairs of Kerry County Board in order. From time to time additional sources of revenue are needed and John McMahon was at the forefront of formulating and organising these fund raising ventures. Foremost of these ventures are the Ticket Purchase Schemes whereby the members of the scheme can purchase Stand Tickets for intercounty Championship Matches in which the Kerry Senior Football team is involved. John enjoyed his years as County Board Treasurer and as our advisor when we needed anything, his love of the games and his respect for the players made it a labour of love for him. He will be sadly missed by us all, ar dheis dé go raibh a anam usail.

Listowel Emmets Coiste na nÓg

Emmets Saturday Morning Club

continues every Saturday at Frank Sheehy Park Listowel from 10.30am to 12noon, this a great opportunity for all players aged between 7 and 10 years to enjoy learning the basics of Gaelic Football.

Fixtures and Results

:

Féile Péil na nÓg

: Emmets met with Dr. Crokes in the semi final of Féile Péil na nÓg on Saturday last in Healy Park, Ballyrickard. After a very highly contested game, Emmets looked likely to book their place in the finals but a last second goal from the Killarney side forced the game to extra time. A quick goal in the opening minutes for Crokes set them on their way for a four point victory over the Listowel side. We can be very proud of our U14 team who have done our club very proud and represented Emmets and Listowel very well throughout this competition. T

The U14's play their final round of the County League on Wednesday night next at 7.30pm in Frank Sheehy Park where they meet Ardfert. Your support will be greatly appreciated.

U12's:

Emmets U12 teams continued on their winning ways in round 2 of the county league where both teams but in steller performances against Laune Rangers at home on Sunday evening last, with comprehensive victories. They next play Kerins O'Rahilly's at home on Thursday evening 26th April at 6.45pm. Please note change of date.

Listowel Emmets Ladies

The Junior team played Ballyduff at home last Wednesday in the semi final of the Division 4 Shield. They won comprehensively on a scoreline of 4-09 to 0-05. This brings the total number of games played to ten, which is greatly assisting the team’s ongoing development . They now play Causeway this weekend in the final at a venue and time to be confirmed.

U16’s will play Corca Duibhne in Lispole on Friday 27th at 6.30 P.M. This will be their first game of the season after a disappointing series of match postponements. All under 16 and adult players are invited to attend a fitness session on Wednesday at 7.00 P.M. at the Listowel Celtic grounds in Tanavalla.

U12’s played Abbeydorney on Friday last. A slow start left the Listowel half time score at one point. After the break Listowel put in a powerful performance however they were unable to catch up to Abbeydorney and they lost on a scoreline of 3-04 to 2-02. Thank you to all the supporters who came to the game.

Listowel Emmets Ladies would like to thank everybody who contributed to last weekend's fundraising collection. Your support is greatly appreciated.

The ladies football club extends its deepest sympathy to Breda Lane and her family on the death of her grandmother. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
