Fixtures & Results

North Kerry Championship

Unfortunately the 2010 North Kerry U21 Championship was not decided on Sunday last in Ballylongford as both sides went in at full time 1-10 each. Knock/Brosna got off to a great start as Emmets had no answer for the Walsh Brothers who shot with relative ease. However, Emmets got more into the game with Michéal Lynch, Cormac Mulvihill and Pa Walsh picking up a lot of breaking ball, with Conor Cox opening the scoring, however as Emmets took the points at one end Knock/Brosna hit the back of the net to leave the gap of 7 between the sides, this drove on Emmets with points from Murphy, McGuire and Walsh. Just before the break Emmets Michéal Lynch sent in a high ball to Morgan Sheehy who cracked the back of the Knock/Brosna net to leave the half time score 1-5 to 1-7 in favour of the combination side. On the resumption Knock/Brosna got off to the better start once again and put 4 between the sides within the opening five minutes Emmets dug deep and crawled back the deficit to a draw thanks to excellent work from Pa Walsh, Michéal Lynch and Brian Murphy. Conor Cox put Emmets in front for the first time in the game five minutes to the end but Knock/ Brosna were determined not to loose and Walsh converted a free to leave both sides level and to battle it out another day. Best for Listowel were Brian Murphy, Jack McGuire and Cormac Mulvihill. At time of print replay date was not yet fixed. There will be a meeting of the North Kerry Board on Tuesday next 20th December where both the U21 and Minor dates will be fixed.
