Emmets Notes 17th December 2012

posted 20 Dec 2012, 07:52 by Listowel Emmets

Sympathy: Listowel Emmets GAA Club would like to extend their deepest sympathies to the Ó Sé family, Ard an Bhóthair, Ceann Trá on the untimely death of a true GAA legend Páidí Ó Sé. Páidí spent a year in Listowel where he lived with his brother Mike and nephews Ferghal, Darragh, Tómas and Marc and playing with St. Michael's College. Ní bheidh leithéid Páidí arís ann. Tá súil againn go bhfuil sé chomh sásta sa tsíoraíocht agus a bhí sé sa Ríocht. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.

Happy Christmas:
Listowel Emmets would like to wish all their players, supporters, members and patrons a very merry christmas and we would like to wish you all a very happy and peaceful New Year.
Emmets Progressive 41 Card Drive:
This weekly event takes a break over Christmas and will resume in the New Year. Please check with Club Officers for date of resumption.
Listowel Emmets Monthly Draw:
Commencing shortly, we will be running a monthly draw that will take place on the last Wednesday of each month at the Clubhouse. The cost of the draw will be €5 per month which is less than the cost of a weekly Lottery Quickpick. The organising committee is currently selling tickets and we are encouraging people to sign up for a yearly ticket for €60 that will also include you in a special draw for 2 prizes of €100 each that will take place on the night of our first draw.
The annual prize fund will be €10,000 and there will be 8 guaranteed winners each month.
We fully appreciate the financial challenges facing our community at present but by supporting a successful Emmets Club, with players at all levels and ability, it will give the same community enormous pleasure now and in the years to come. We would like to acknowledge your support in the past and hope you will be equally generous again in supporting our club.

Fixture
The 2012 Bernard O'Callaghan Memorial North Kerry Senior Championship between Beale and Duagh will take place in Frank Sheehy Park Listowel on St. Stephen's Day 26th December at 2.30 P.M. Listowel Emmets have not hosted the final in 16 years so it is a great honour for our club to host our district final. We would like to thank the board most sincerely for choosing our venue.

Listowel Emmets Ladies
As we say goodbye to 2012 Emmets Ladies would like to thank all those who gave their time, skills, support and enthusiasm to our club and for making this season both successful and enjoyable. To our players for their commitment throughout the year. The girls are great ambassadors for their club and Ladies Football. The parents for the continued support in transport to games, for providing tea and sandwiches for blitz's. To our coaching staff and to all those who assisted in preparing teams, the girls club would not exist without them. Thank you to our sponsor Charlie Cantillon from Centra Listowel who has been a great supporter of Emmets Ladies, for the continuing financial assistance. Our team is looking really well in the new set of Centra jerseys. To Christy Walsh from The Well Bar in The Square for his commitment to the club and for hosting our end of Summer BBQ. Merry Christmas to all, we hope Santa fits down the chimney with lots of Black and Amber goodies.
