Fixtures and Results

U14's Emmets met with Gneeveguilla at home last Wednesday night where a great game of football was played out with the result going right down to the final whistle. Emmets as in their last game had to come from behind to grind out this well deserved draw against a very strong Gneeveguilla side.

Emmets took an early lead with a point in the first minute. However Gneeveguilla equalized with a point from a free for the East Kerry side shortly afterwards. Gneeveguilla then took control of the game taking 2-4 without reply and lead by six at the break. Emmets worked hard in the second half taking 1-3 inside the opening ten minutes however the powerful display of the Gneeveguilla midfield powered past the Listowel side and they shot for two consecutive goals. Emmets dug deep once again thanks to powerful play by Jack Healy and Tom Melvin who took some lovely scores from play. In an exciting finish both teams battled hard and the game could have gone either way final score 4-8 to 3-11. Tom Melvin, Oran Pierce, Robert Smith, Thomas Doherty and Feidhlim Roberts aided a gallant come back for the home side.

Féile Péil na nÓg: Emmets with St. Senan's in the preliminary round of Féile Péil na nÓg on Saturday afternoon in Strand Road where they drew 1-06 a piece. They next met with Kerins O'Rahilly where they lost by 3 points. Emmets had to then await the result of Kerin's O'Rahilly's against St. Senan's to see if they qualified for the semi finals, the pendulum swung in Emmets favour and they are now in the last four of the competition.

U12's Emmets U12 teams got off to a great start in the U12 County League on Sunday night last where both the A and B teams had comprehensive victories over Dr. Crokes, they now meet with Laune Rangers at home on Sunday next 22nd April at 7pm.

County Minor League Division 3B The Minor team travel to Killorglin this Friday evening April 20th to play Laune Rangers.

A great night was had by the large crowd with entertainment by The Promise.

RESULTS: The Junior team travelled to Spa on Saturday last to play in the County League Division 4 semi final and despite a great start scoring 2-1 without reply they were comprehensively beaten by a very experienced Spa team. However Listowel will now play Ballyduff this week in the division 4 B semi final, affording more games to the girls before the exam break.

UNDER 12’s were beaten in the North Kerry Trophy Final by Ballyduff on a scoreline of 4-4 to 2-2 . The Emmets held their own for the majority of the game but gave way to a strong Ballyduff team who in the last 10 minutes consolidated their possession of the game. The girls have the County League to look forward to which is starting next week. They will play at home to Abbeydorney, time and day to be confirmed during the week.
