2013 Keanes SuperValu County Minor Football League Division 3A - Semi Final Replay
Final Score Rathmore 1-06 V Listowel Emmets 4-07
Well done to the Listowel Emmets Minor team who after a replay victory over a gallant Rathmore side have qualified for the Final of the Keanes SuperValu County Minor Football League Division 3A. Everybody in the club is very proud of each and every one of you for showing great courage, spirit, heart, determination, bottle and bravery. The Division 3A campaign began way back on the 24th of February on a bitterly cold afternoon in Moyvane. This dedicated panel of young and enthusiastic players gave everything to the cause all along the way and their efforts have now been rewarded with a place in the Final. The Final will be against Spa next Friday evening at 7.00 P.M. in Austin Stack Park – Tralee. We would really appreciate it if you could go along to support them.

Listowel Emmets Ladies
Emmets senior ladies are currently on a break and will resume training in two weeks time in preparation for the North Kerry league final and county league final.
Emmets ladies under 12’s travelled the short distance to Finuge / St Senans for a local derby. The game was played in very windy conditions with the odd shower thrown into the mix. Captained by Diane Maloney in what can easily be said the very best of  football. To their credit Finuge / St Senans threw everything they had at the girls and it was a cracking game of football. Excellent skills shown by both teams with Listowel coming away with the win.
This week sees the start of the John B.Keane league which will run over the coming weeks. The Saturday Morning Club is on every Saturday morning in Frank Sheehy park from 10.30 A.M. to 12.00 P.M. We have had a lot of new faces this year and this is a fantastic opportunity for girls to be part of a team and get regular exercise with their friends.  All girls under 8/10 are invited to come along and new players are always welcome.
Gaelic4Mothers+Others continues at 8.00pm on Thursdays in St Michael’s College.  This is a fitness program using the skills of ladies football and no prior experience is necessary to take part. Our newest member is on a 6 month visit from Argentina so we would encourage anyone to join the girls and get out of the house. Bring a friend and set your own pace. If you have any questions give Ann (087 969 1324) or Deborah (086 128 0944) a call.
Well done and best wishes to the 5 girls from Emmets under 12’s, Rebecca Mason, Sally O’Flynn, Finoula Keane, Diane Maloney and Niamh Canty who are going on to represent their club and county against Waterford on May 25th. Meanwhile Leah Henry and Saoirse Kennedy played for Kerry against Cork in the Munster U14 final in what was a thrilling game and ended in a controversial draw. We eagerly await the replay. Congratulations to our very own Breda Lane who played for Kerry against Galway in the Division 2 national league final. Kerry won by 3 points to secure their first National League title since 1991 and gain promotion to Division 1.
Emmets Ladies would like congratulate Savannah McCarthy on the Traveller Pride Award presented to her by Katie Taylor in recognition of her achievement and captaincy of Ireland U16 soccer team. Everyone at Listowel Emmets are very proud of your achievements Savannah.
Listowel Emmets Ladies will hold their flag day on Saturday May 18th and we are looking for volunteers to help with the collections. Parents of children from each age group and senior players who are willing to help out for a hour on the day please contact Gemma Hannon.
Emmets ladies would like to wish the very best to all the girls making their Holy Communion this week. We hope you have a very special day.
