Emmets Notes 13th August 2012

Well done to Conor Cox and the Kerry Junior team who qualified for the All Ireland Junior final on Saturday night last where they overcame Cavan in Nenagh on a scoreline of Kerry 1-16 Cavan 2-6. Conor Cox contributed five points to the Kerry scoreline, three from play. Kerry will play Mayo in the All Ireland Final on Saturday 25th August. We wish Conor and Kerry all the best in the final.
Congratulations once again to John James Buckley and Karena McCarthy on their marriage last weekend, we wish them a long and happy life together.

Listowel Emmets Ladies
It has been a quiet week for Listowel Emmets Ladies as a lot of activities were put on hold in preparation for the All-Ireland soccer final. Hard Luck to the Listowel Celtic under 16’s who were defeated by Peamount United in the FAI cup final on Sunday last.
This week will sees a lot of games taking place as the Under 13, Under 15, and Under 16 will all play while adult teams will resume with games in the Mary Jo Curran Cup and Novice League.
The club would like to congratulate John James Buckley and his new bride Karena on the occasion of their marriage last weekend.

Saturday Morning Club
A huge thank you to Fr.Casey's of Abbeyfeale who came over to play our U10s and 9s and to Clounmacon who played our U7s and U8s. This Saturday we continue to train for the Inaugural Jim Corridan Tournament and the Junior Jim Corridan Tournament which will be held on the first Sunday of September. 

U14s Emmets U14's had a good win over Ballydonoghue on Monday night last at home and keep their 100% record in the league so far. Next Monday night 20th August sees the clash of the big guns as both Emmets and St. Senan's took part in Division one of the county league this year, the bragging rights will be up for grabs ones again throw in at 7pm in Frank Sheehy Park, Listowel.

U16s Emmets U16's were defeated on Wednesday night last in the semi final of the county league division four, an under strength Emmets side travelled to Listry and even though the result did not go our way the boys played with great heart and determination, best of the luck to the boys in the North Kerry championship which will begin shortly.
