Beale                 0-11
O’Rahilly Park in Ballylongford was the venue for this year’s North Kerry Senior Championship Final where a large energetic crowd enjoyed a fine game of football between Listowel Emmets and Beale despite the unfavourable weather conditions.
This game ebbed and flowed for the entire 60 minutes. Emmets dominating the opening periods of both halves but Beale answering this dominance by engineering important scores of their own to stay in contention and eventually go on and win the game.
Emmets Bryan Murphy opened the scoring in the third minute with a well worked point. Conor Cox got Listowels next 2 scores one from a placed ball and in the 12th minute taking the first of a number of impressive scores from play for the Kerry panellist.
Beale stayed within sight of the Listowel men largely through the boot of Ger O’Gorman accurately converting free’s on the 10th 17th and 18th minutes. Beales first point from play in the game came from the boot of Ian Mannix in the 24th minute.
Cox’s next score from play was superb swinging it over from outside the 45’ taking into consideration the inclement conditions this was an exceptional score and he followed it up by curling an almost impossible free in the 32nd minute  bringing the half to an end with a scoreline of 0-6 to 0-4 to the Emmets men.
On resumption of the 2nd half following the half time exhibition match by juvenile players from both Listowel and Beale clubs, Beale's Captain James McMahon opened the scoring in the 31st minute. Again, the second half served up a fantastic battle between these two sides. Listowel Emmets David Sheehy taking good scores on the 34th and 36th minute and Brian McGuires point on the 37th minute made it appear that this was going to be Listowels day.
However, the Ballybunion men were not going to lie down and kicked 5 unanswered points during this pivotal period in the game. Beale wing back Shane Joy kicked their final point in the 54th minute giving them a lead of 11-9. Emmets desperately chased the game for the last 5 minutes. A Cox free on 56 minutes made it a one point game however it was not to be for the black and amber as Eddie Barrett blew the final whistle right on 60 minutes initiating scenes of huge celebration for the large Beale support. Congratulations to Beale on their victory and becoming Senior North Kerry Champions.
