On Saturday last our Saturday Morning Club travelled to Milltown Malbay for their end of season trip, the boys and girls had a great day of football followed by a trip to the swimming pool in Lahinch. A huge thank you to Patsy McCarthy and his mentors on a great day and we hope all the players will enjoy their break and we'll see them back again in late March.

Emmets U11's also celebrated their end of season trip at the weekend where they travelled to Tralee and went to the Aqua Dome followed by bowling. A big thank you to Breda McVeigh for organising the day out and to all who helped out.

Commiserations to Emmets U13s who were defeated in the final of the Tommy Madden U13 Championship in Coolard on Sunday last on a score line of 3-06 to 1-07. Congratulations to St. Senan's on a great game. Thanks to Mark, Riobard, Bernard that helped out with this group of players and we hope to see them back and eager as ever for the start of the U14 County League in March.

Emmets Ladies

Listowel Ladies Selection played The Kerry Garda Ladies in the Carmel O'Connor Memorial Shield. The game was played in front of a large crowd with proceeds from the gate going to Listowel Cancer Support Group. After the game both sides and their followers gathered in the clubhouse where the Carmel O'Connor Shield was presented to the Listowel and Garda captains which will be held for 6 months with Listowel Emmets and the duration of the year at Listowel Garda Station where Garda O'Connor was stationed before her death. Special thanks goes to Leah Dore, Garda Liz Towmey, Garda Mary Gardner and everyone involved in organising a very enjoyable afternoon. We look forward to the rematch!

The Under 8 /10s season came to finish this weekend with a end of season trip to Clare where they played Miltown Malbay in three games at Under 8 / 9 / 10 level. Great day was had by all and they finished the day in the pool in lahinch and had the pleasure watching dolphins on the way home on the ferry. The girls started in March and trained / played a game every week up to now.

We would like to thank the parents for the continued support in transport to games, support to players, helping with the teams, teas and sandwiches for blitz's. A major thanks to our coaching staff, mainly Brenda, Breda, Sean, Jim and Paddy as the girls club would not exist without them. We wish the very best to our under 10s making the step up to the next level in 2013.

A major thank you to our sponsor Centra listowel for the new set of jerseys where the under 8/9’s are making great use of them.

This Sunday the Seniors play the winners of the Tipperary Senior Club Shield in the Munster Senior Club Shield with time, venue and opposition TBC. Best of luck to the girls and all involved. Also on Sunday the U14s play Corca Dhuibhne in a back game of the North Kerry League.
