Congratulations to all of the Listowel Emmets players involved in last Tuesday nights North Kerry League victory over Ballydonoghue in Con Brosnan Park.

Played in extremely warm conditions in Moyvane the Emmets players acquitted themselves superbly to the task in hand and displayed a fighting spirit throughout to stay out in front of a very competitive Ballydonoghue side.

This was the first time in five years that the Emmets juniors have won this competition so the victory was that bit extra special.

There were some fine performances all over the field but Brendan 'Mot' Kelly gave an exhibition of corner back play during the match, contributing a point from play in the first half!

Emmets Ladies:

This week saw the completion of the Gaelic4Girls programme at Listowel Emmets Ladies. The culmination of this hard work was a National Blitz Day in Croke Park. On the day we had 3 coaches traveling with participants, parents and coaches. Listowel was given the opportunity for a panel of 15 players to play in Croke Park. The girls played 5 matches and got to spend time with some of the games most well known and influential county stars. Special thanks to Sarah O’Brien, Maime O’Flynn and Sarah Moriarty for all the hard work and time they have given to the coaching sessions and for their fantastic work in bringing the girls to Croke Park.

In the Senior County Championship Emmets are at home to the winners of Scartaglin or Castleisland/Duagh.  The game will be played on Friday 18th July in Frank Sheehy Park at 7.00 p.m. In the past 2 weeks the ladies played Corcha Duibhne and Castleisland in the North Kerry League but unfortunately narrowly lost both games despite having great second half performances.  Next Sundaythey play Na Gaeil in Frank Sheehy Park at 12.00 and this an opportunity to get a confidence boosting before the County Championship.

Listowel will host an U8’s/ U10’s Blitz in association with the North Kerry Ladies Board on Saturday July 19th in Frank Sheehy Park. The U12’s will take part in the Munster Blitz on the same day. This week the U16’s play Corca Duibhne in Annascaul
