Recent Results

County Senior League Round 2 : Emmets 1-7  Currow 0-7.  Emmets and Currow played out an entertaining sixty minutes in blustery conditions at Frank Sheehy Park on Saturday evening. In a game that ebbed and flowed from start to finish with the lead changing hands on numerous occasions it was home side that prevailed at the final whistle by 3 points thanks to a cracking goal by player manager Noel Kennelly.


It was the visitors who got off to a great start kicking 2 points with no reply from the industrious full forward Dan O'Shea, Emmets took their opening score from a converted free by Conor Cox, again it was Currow to take another with a well worked score from play by Pa McCarthy. As Brian McGuire began to dominate at center field linking well Kennelly and Sheehy, Kennelly converting from an awkward angle leaving two between the sides. Emmets failed to capitalise on the amount of possession they held and were guilty of a lot of wayward kicking, Currow on the other hand aided by the stiff breeze took another two scores in succession to put three between the sides. In the final ten minutes of the half Emmets learned to control their play a bit better with Kennelly and Cox exchanging points from play, leaving the half time score 0-5to 0-4.


On the resumption Cox kicked the equaliser in the opening seconds of the half, Brian McGuire's dominance at midfield aided by a teak tough defense of Shane Quinn, Brendan Guiney, Jake Moriarty and Cormac Mulvihill ensured that Currow scores were going to be at a premium. Dan O'Shea again kicked Currow into the lead with a fine point from play. Keith Hughes linked with well with Cormac Mulvihill and in a great movement of play found Conor Cox drove forward finding Noel Kennelly who drilled a rasping shot to the back of the Currow net. Driving on from this success, Cox took an inspiration score from play to put 3 between the sides. Currow battled hard to the end with O'Shea and Brosnan in particular driving their attack however increasing wind conditions saw their efforts drift wind, leaving final score Emmets 1-7 Currow 0-7

Emmets Coiste na nÓg

Emmets U6s: got off to a great start last Saturday Morning with a great turnout of boys and girls, anyone that would like to join the ABC Club should come along on Saturday Morning next to St. Michael’s College Gym  from 10.30am to 11.30am. The ABC Club is open for all boys and girls born in 2009 – 2010. Applications forms for registration are available on the day.

Saturday Morning Club: will recommence on this Sat 4th April at 10.30am – 12 noon for u8’s and u10 boys born from 2005 – 2008. Come along and bring a friend. Application forms are available in schools or on the morning of registration.

Emmets U12’s Training continues for our U-12s starts on Thursday evenings in the Boys School Field from 5pm to 6-30pm.We look forward to seeing ye all there.

Emmets U16’s will begin their North Kerry League this week away to St. Senan’s they meet with Beale at home on Bank Holiday Monday 6th April at 6.30pm. We wish the Team and Management every success in the league.


Emmets Ladies


The Ladies played Na Gaeil on Sunday the 29th in Na Gaeil in the 4th round of the county league, Unfortunately Na Gaeil could only field 9 players due to the Kerry Ladies game, so they gave the game to Emmets Ladies. Both teams played a friendly in tough conditions due to strong winds . Thanks to all involved.


Under 16 training continues on Monday this week at 6.30pm in St. Michael s Pitch. 

Our U14s girls welcomed Southern Gaels U 14s girls to a windy Frank Sheehy Park last Sunday. A sincere thank you to the parents who helped with sandwiches and teas for our visitors it was greatly appreciated. Our girls played with great spirit and shining for us on the day was Elise Harris at midfield , Eva Flynn in the back line and Ciara Sweeney in the full forward line. Next up is Duagh U 14s next Wednesday evening.

U12 Lions team played Corca Dhuibne in the North Kerry division 1 league on Sunday . After being 2 points down at half time, the Listowel girls fought back in the second half and pulled away late in the game. Fantastic display by the girls.

The U12 Tigers also played Corca Dhuibne in division 4 of the North Kerry League.  Excellent  defensive display combined with ability to take scores when needed saw the Listowel girls chalk up another great win.Thanks to Corca Dhuibhne for travelling in such large numbers and a huge thank you to all the Listowel parents who laid on such an impressive spread after the match. Much appreciated by the Listowel Ladies and Corca Dhuibhne alike.

Under 10 training continues on  Saturdays at 5 pm. at the  boys school field. note change of day and time, registration €20 and a sub of €2 per training session.

Unfortunately the start of Under 8 training had to be cancelled due to the bad weather, check out our facebook page for updates.

The ABC club was a fantastic success on Saturday morning well done to all involved.
