Round 1: Rathmore V Emmets in Rathmore on Sunday 22nd March 2015 at 2pm
Result: Emmets 0-8 Rathmore 0-8

Emmets and Rathmore played out a highly entertaining game in Bishop Moynihan Park on Sunday last in splendid sunshine, the home side registered the opening score and quickly added on a pointed free but that was the end of Rathmore’s dominance as Brian McGuire led from midfield with some splendid high fielding where the lively Conor Cox took the first score from pointed free. Emmets defense was rock solid from start to finish with Jack McGuire, Cormac Mulvihill and Brendan Guiney linking well. Improved performance from the younger players Rici Hanley and Darragh Leahy saw Emmets go in 0-4 to 0-2 at the break. Rathmore again opened the scoring with a fisted effort from their corner forward, while Conor Cox put the visitors 3 points clear with a superb long range effort from play. Keith Hughes pulled off a massive save on the 18th minute to deny Rathmore’s only goal opportunity and from there to the final whistle it was nip and tuck, Emmets looked like they had secured victory but a last ditch effort by Rathmore late injury time saw them secure the equalizer. This was a great team effort by Emmets with Currow at home on Saturday evening next they will certainly looking to build on their performance.

Round 2: Emmets V Currow in Frank Sheehy Park on Saturday 28th March 2015 at 5pm

Results: Emmets 1-7 Currow 0-7

Emmets and Currow played out an entertaining sixty minutes in blustery conditions at Frank Sheehy Park on Saturday evening. In a game that ebbed and flowed from start to finish with the lead changing hands on numerous occasions it was home side that prevailed at the final whistle by 3 points thanks to a cracking goal by player manager Noel Kennelly.

It was the visitors who got off to a great start kicking 2 points with no reply from the industrious full forward Dan O'Shea, Emmets took their opening score from a converted free by Conor Cox, again it was Currow to take another with a well worked score from play by Pa McCarthy. As Brian McGuire began to dominate at center field linking well Kennelly and Sheehy, Kennelly converting from an awkward angle leaving two between the sides. Emmets failed to capitalise on the amount of possession they held and were guilty of a lot of wayward kicking, Currow on the other hand aided by the stiff breeze took another two scores in succession to put three between the sides. In the final ten minutes of the half Emmets learned to control their play a bit better with Kennelly and Cox exchanging points from play, leaving the half time score 0-5to 0-4.

On the resumption Cox kicked the equaliser in the opening seconds of the half, Brian McGuire's dominance at midfield aided by a teak tough defense of Shane Quinn, Brendan Guiney, Jake Moriarty and Cormac Mulvihill ensured that Currow scores were going to be at a premium. Dan O'Shea again kicked Currow into the lead with a fine point from play. Keith Hughes linked with well with Cormac Mulvihill and in a great movement of play found Conor Cox drove forward finding Noel Kennelly who drilled a rasping shot to the back of the Currow net. Driving on from this success, Cox took an inspiration score from play to put 3 between the sides. Currow battled hard to the end with O'Shea and Brosnan in particular driving their attack however increasing wind conditions saw their efforts drift wind, leaving final score Emmets 1-7 Currow 0-7
